Piha Community Library Celebrates 10th of New Building

The first celebration of the 10th birthday of the new building was, naturally, with the children. 'Dress as your favourite book character' was the theme.

Some of the librarians did the same and read the book their character came from to the children.

Below are photos of some of Piha's beautiful young children, some of the librarians and, as always, the refreshments for the littlies.

Easter at the Piha Community Library

Here are some photos from "Easter at the Library"

The prizes for the colouring in competition, judged by local artist Stephanie Kroeger were won by:-

Age 1 - 4..Winner:-Paco Serradeill. Best use of colour and innovative technique
                  Merit:- Poppy McGrath. Very neat and tidy.

Age:-5 - 8..Winner:- Yasmin Hitching. Good realistic cohice of colour, very tidy
                    Merit:- Rosiebea Stoddard. Brightest colours.

Age 9 - 12..Winner:- Jordan Pope. Best technique and good choice of different mediums.
      Merit:- Jodi Fordyce. Realistic colours, nice and bright.

There were also prizes for Pin the tail on the Bunny, Guess the Easter Eggs in the Jar and Who found the most carrots planted on the Domain.

The wonderful face painting was done by Celeste Strewe, left, of KareKare.

The lucky winner of the "Easter Basket" raffle was Stephen Cotton.

The library would like to thank all those who supported Easter at the
Library, it was a great day for our younger members.

Thank you "Easter Bunny" and all the librarians who gave up their valuable time to make it such a fun filled afternoon for the Piha children.

We would also like to thank all those who bought raffle tickets and attended the Car Boot Sale, your generous contributions have gone straight into our Library Extension Building Fund.
