An extremely successful book fair thanks to the generosity of many locals who sponsored the gourmet sausages. Martine worked very hard to gain sponsors for the library BBQ and to ensure that we got gourmet food.
Always a wonderfully successful day the book fair brings locals down to nab a bargain and to chat with friends and to enjoy the sunshine. Thanks to Dan who supplied us with a couple of gazebos to keep the sun off all the goods.
Auckland Libries donated cartons of books, as did locals and the table were covered in wonderful delights for all. While the parents worked heir way through the piles of books children had their faces painted by Dana, Ella, Matt and Sharon.
The books, facepainting, raffle and BBQ brought in a grand total of over $2000 toward the library administration - insurance, webpage and telephone.
A great day thanks to Piha locals and library volunteers.
