The magnificent library mural was opened in March by Peter Turei. The children and parents, who had worked with local artist Shelley France, came along to cut the ribbon so the public could finally see the work that was a year in the making.
All along the decks to the library are the wonderful book characters produced by the children from their favourite books. Many New Zealand book characters are to be found amongst DR Seus and Harry Potter characters.
Locals, politicians and children all came and enjoyed stories from Peter Turei and a great morning tea organised by Maureen Thompson.
The mural is a major asset to the Library building drawing in locals and vistiors to enjoy the work.
